Youth rifle runs from mid-September through the beginning of April on Friday nights with relays at 7PM, 8PM, 9PM and 10PM, depending on the age group shooting. Youth rifle shooters are from 10 to 18 years old and must complete either the Home Firearms Safety Class, Basic Rifle or the Hunter Education Class prior to participating. The fee for Youth rifle is $80.00 per year and includes the use of a rifle and ammunition. Beginning in September, returning Youth Rifle shooters receive an email to determine if they wish to continue shooting and the information necessary to register to shoot. New youth rifle shooters on the waiting list are sent an email only if there are available openings in the program. Email the team administrator at youthrifle [at] hotmail.com for waiting list inquires and questions.
Youth use .22 rifles, either their own, or club supplied. The cost per shooter is $80 for club fees and an additional $35 if also interested in participating in 4-H. Participation in 4-H gains shooters access to 4-H competitions and other fun events. Competitions run Jan-June and are typically on Saturday’s.

Fees include all necessary equipment (rifles, ammunition and targets). Ear muffs and safety glasses are available but you may want to consider buying a set for yourself and your child as the clubs are well used. Some shooters do bring their own rifles, a Coach reviews them before they can be used on our line. If you are considering providing a rifle for your youth (not necessary) please discuss this with a coach before purchasing to ensure it meets requirements.
Youth are assigned a spot on 1 of 4, 1-hour relay times which run at 7PM, 8PM, 9PM and 10PM. Each relay can accommodate 11 youth. Youth are assigned a relay by age and family need.
For youth interested in participating, a pre-requisite course from those listed below is necessary for participation at Kenmore Range. Once they have completed a pre-requisite course, confirmation of completion will be required before they are allocated a slot.
The following are acceptable pre-requisite classes and links to registration contacts. There are no exceptions, all youth must complete an approved safety course prior to shooting in practice. Youth can sit through practice, but will not be allowed on the firing line until an approved safety course is completed (Kenmore Range requirement).
